Biplab Kumar Sarkar, Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, illegally fled to India with the help of smugglers through the Dahgram border of Patgram in Lalmonirhat. According to Patgram police and locals, Shubo police officer Biplab Kumar, the trafficker of Dangapara Olerpara area of Dahgram union, has admitted to the escape.
It is known that on Tuesday (September 10) night, a popular police officer, Biplap Kumar, entered India. Audio recordings of some of the traffickers' conversations have been circulated on social media. There has been a lot of discussion and buzz throughout the district.
A man named Pankaj Kumar Madan, manager of Patgram BRAC Bank, was arrested by locals around 9 pm on Tuesday as a suspect in the incident. Later he was handed over to Patgram police station.
However, after interrogating him (Pankaj) throughout the night, no reliable information was found, said Abu Saeed Chowdhury, OC of Patgram police station. As the matter is sensitive, senior officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-51 Rangpur Battalion are also said to be looking into it.
According to Patgram police station and locals, on Wednesday afternoon smuggler Shubo (30) was caught by locals due to a money dispute in Rangpur. At that time, the local BNP leaders of Rangpur spoke on mobile phones with some of their party leaders of Patgram about Shubo. At this time, Shubo also joined their conversation. At one stage of the conversation, Shubo said, "On Tuesday night, the police officer Biplab Kumar Sarkar was sent to India through the Dahagram border road."
It is also known from the source of the conversation on the mobile phone, 'Biblab was sent across the border with the help of Pankaj of BRAC Bank and Akchedul, Momin, Long Shaheen, Farooq, Rajib, Shamim and Mokchedul of Dahgram. Mithu of Jaldhaka Mirganj, Nishad also helped bring the revolution to Rubel Patgram. One and a half lakh taka is taken while crossing the border.
Some audio related to this has spread on social media. Shubo and his father Osman Gani tried to contact them to talk to them, but they could not be found.
In this regard, Abu Saeed Chowdhury, OC of Patgram police station, said, 'The matter is being looked at seriously. Seeking advice from higher authorities. The BGB is also investigating. BRAC Bank manager released on conditional bail. Strict legal action will be taken if the truth is found after investigating the whole matter.
